There’s no expectation of prior knowledge beyond what one ought to encounter in an American high school.
That being said, there’s a lot you can do to contextually root camp, and get the most out of the experience.

No you don’t need to be code-literate to come to camp, but you should want to be anyway and it will do a lot to contextually root everything that happens in camp and empower you to do more with everything you learn after camp.
